Another week, another train. Thank goodness it’s Friday! I hope to be recording some video as you read this. I need to see some happy people on the train! All my friends that get on the eastbound train at 7:20 at Richland Springs makes the trip to Dallas a blast each day. Mark, Lance, and all the rest of the crew make waking up to laughter fun in the mornings. Our two dancing friends that are traveling to Booker T. Washington High School are in especially good spirits on Thursday.
I look forward to seeing my friends on the train. I enjoy getting my daily copy of the Quick Magazine, I always read my Quick with my oatmeal at work. I find it funny that a group of traveling workers can still bond and make friendships. In an age where many people are listening to their music, or talking on their phones, there are still people that hang out and actually communicate with each other. What a concept!
One of the funny things I have noticed on the train is there are times when no one is talking on a train. Invaribly, when it’s quite on the train, one person will be having a spirited conversation with usually a spouse that isn’t doing what he is supposed to be doing at home. “What you say man?” “You know I be payin this phone bill, so you better be letting me talk on it.” The entire train hears the entire domestic situation with her husband and how he can’t get a job. I’m a little embarrassed for her as she looks pretty shallow, yet she obviously doesn’t think anyone is listening when in fact, the whole train can hear her profane conversation with her hubby.
All-in-all it was a good week for making new friends on the train. Let’s get some videos up!
