There are many conflicting stories coming out of Valley Ranch with Jerry Jones and company. Stories are really being exchanged now that free agency will begin this Friday.
The NFL is entering the last year of the salary cap under the current collective bargaining agreement, so Jones is getting ready for 2010, when he believes there won’t be a cap.
First, Jerry says the Cowboys won’t do much this year in free agency. And then we get this story about how there is a supposed gag order at Valley Ranch and everything comes through him for Cowboys information.
Then, we get this story this morning about how DeMarcus Ware is saying Ray Lewis wants to be a Cowboy? And then this item saying no way Ray Lewis is coming to the DFW Metroplex.
So which is it Jerry? Which story do you want us to buy at this point? Do you ever wonder why your credibility is questioned?
It hurts me to say this, but my Dallas Cowboys are really becoming the NFL’s version of the Barnum and Bailey Circus except the circus doesn’t have a billion dollar arena that residents of Arlington are paying for. But the Cowboys do have plenty of tight rope acts.
