The St. Louis Rams have released future Hall of Fame offensive tackle Orlando Pace, a staple of the organization who was the first pick of the 1997 NFL draft, made seven Pro Bowls and won a Super Bowl ring with the team. The decision to release Pace is no surprise after the team told Pace he wasn’t welcome at offseason workouts.
Do you think Orlando Pace has less penalties than say Flozell Adams?
Do the deal Jerry. Do this deal!
In other Cowboys news, having already said goodbye to safety Roy Williams and unsure if they will say hello again to Keith Davis, the Cowboys agreed to terms with Gerald Sensabaugh on a one-year deal.
The Cowboys are looking at having Orlando Scandrick play a hybrid safety/cornerback spot this season opposite Ken Hamlin, but Sensabaugh is a true safety. In 50 games with Jacksonville, he had 168 tackles and six interceptions. He started a career-high 13 games last season with four interceptions.
Burnett takes deal with Chargers: Linebacker Kevin Burnett has left the Cowboys and agreed to a two-year contract with San Diego. Burnett’s deal is worth $5.5 million with a $2 million signing bonus. His base salaries are guaranteed even if he gets injured or released.
Burnett’s agent, Ricky Lefft, said the Cowboys made a late play for the linebacker, but the financial package wasn’t good enough.
Oakland, San Francisco, Tennessee, Houston and Green Bay had expressed interest in Burnett, who finished second on the team in special teams tackles with 19.
