From ESPN:

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers are going to make people forget about those miserable starts of the recent past if they keep playing like it is 1996 again.

Thursday, 4/9/09 update

Just wanted to update everyone on my health. I’m very thankful and appreciative that I’m feeling better. My stamina is finally getting better. I can work an entire day without feeling so drained and I’m so glad for that. My mental perspective is much better as well. I’m not as paranoid about my heart as I was. Thanks to all of you for your kind words and kind thoughts. Thanks so much.

Gotta love it

One of life’s glorious moments (well, 30 seconds of glory) is the music that is played when a player for the Texas Rangers hits a homerun. It sort of makes the hair stand up sort of feeling.

And who could forget this is the movie from which the music comes from…just as hair raising…

Rangers are 2-0

ARLINGTON – Nelson Cruz was the star at the plate Wednesday night. Two homers in the same game – especially mammoth ones – result in instant star status.

Proof that men are more gross than anything

I saw an AP story today in the Abilene Reporter News that just has to be told. Here is the story:

WACO (AP) — Waco police say a fight over flatulence left one man stabbed and another facing an assault charge.

A statement Wednesday says police were called to a motel where several men from the Houston area were sharing a room.

Police say 35-year-old Juan Antonio Salano Castellano allegedly passed gas in the room Tuesday night.

Police say one of the other men became upset, picked up a knife and threw it at Castellano, who was cut in the leg. The suspect is accused of then stabbing Catellano in the chest.

Castellano was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, where police say he was treated for non-life threatening wounds.

The alleged attacker was arrested and faces an aggravated assault charge.

First of all can you believe this really happen? And second of all, can you believe it made the freaking news? And finally, how many men can share a motel room? There’s many things that make this story almost comical if it weren’t so sick.
