A Tribute to Tom Landry

It seems that the immortal Tom Landry will be honored this fall at the State Fair of Texas.

A display featuring private memorabilia from legendary Dallas Cowboys coach Tom Landry will complement an exhibit celebrating a century of North Texas football when the State Fair of Texas opens next month.

Alicia Landry, the iconic coach’s widow, will provide most of the items from her private collection – much of which has never been seen in public before. It will include championship game balls, trophies and one of the coach’s trademark felt fedoras.

For those of you who dopn’t remember Tom Landry, I can not think of any person that was a better example of a great man and great coach.

Ouch! Hoooochie Momma!!!

From Out of Bounds

By Rick Chandler

Well, he’s already wearing purple spandex, so he might as well be a soprano. The place is Malaga, Spain, and this time, instead of a matador getting the business end of the horn, it’s the person called the banderiller, whose job it is to weaken the bull’s neck and shoulder muscles with pointed sticks, known as banderillas. Pedro Muriel feels what happens when the tables are turned. I haven’t seen a shot this accurate since Luke blew up the Death Star.

It’s just one of the recent bull attacks in Spain, following Catalonia’s decision to ban the controversial ritual in their area.

Um, if these guys are supposed to be so brave, how did the bull get presented with this target?
