It’s time!!! Time for baseball!
Everything is right in the world! Time to play ball!
Let’s see if YOUR Texas Rangers can go to the World Series again! How about the Grand Prairie AirHogs? Weeeeeee! It’s time for baseball!
Police were summoned to the usually quiet suburban neighborhood of Boring, Ore. on Sunday as Michelle Cline climbed atop a basketball pole and refused to come down. Cline is protesting her elimination from the Times-Tribune NCAA Basketball Pool, where she he had been in the running for first place until this weekend. Losses by Arizona on Saturday and North Carolina on Sunday ended her dream of first place, and one day owning a dishwasher. Now she can finish no better than 12th … far out of the money.
“The scoring system is unfair to women,” Cline told officers. She noted
that Michelle Nolan, also a woman, has never won the Pool in 25
tries. When police tried to explain the technical problems with that statement, they were met with a barrage of expletives and empty beer cans. Cline states that an early-round matchup, listed on the bracket as “Louisville vs. M’head State’, was confusing. “I tried to look up “M’head State,” but kept getting porn,” she said. “Finally in frustration I clicked on Louisville, because Pitino is dreamy. It’s not fair; those extra points would have me in first place
Police, weary of her ranting, eventually shot Cline with a tranquilizer
dart and caught her in a net. She will be airlifted further back into the
Meanwhile, Lew Patton continues to hold on to the two top
spots going into The Final Four. Patton is attempting an unprecedented 1-2
finish, but needs Kentucky to beat UConn, and then VCU or Butler to win the
title game. Also with a chance to win it all: Bryan Streit
(needs UConn to beat Kentucky, then VCU or Butler to win title game);
Nick Hardin (needs UConn to win title game) and Sean
O’Murchu (needs Kentucky to win title game). There are a handful of
others with chances to finish in the money (second or third), including
Ali DeFreitas, currently in 17th place.
Here are the standings. Good luck to all. All decisions by the
Pool Commissioner are final. No weeping or begging.

Redmond, WA — Poised to rocket ahead in the standings if either Duke or
Wisconsin won their respective Sweet 16 showdowns on Thursday, Alex
Valdes showed little emotion as both teams were soundly defeated,
effectively ending his chances at finishing in the money. Telling his wife that
he was going to “take a quick bath,” Valdes stopped briefly in the kitchen to
retrieve what his family thought was a bar of soap. This would be a sad scene,
except for the flowers, which are a nice touch.
Several other participants set their pool fortunes to “dark” on Thursday,
but all is not lost. There are 29 people who can
still win it all, plus many others still eligible to finish in the money
(second or third place). Be particularly wary of Jerry DuPuis
and Teri Guida, who are the only two who picked Arizona to go
all the way. They could spell trouble for Lew Patton, the
Dallas resident who — like the Texas cattle barons of old — owns three
brackets in the top four, refusing to let anyone else graze on his land. Of
course Patton’s beloved Texas Rangers were roundly spanked in the World Series
this past fall by a team which will remain nameless, and is out for revenge.
Hello sports fans. It’s Sunday and spring has sprung! One sure hint that spring is here is the annual frustration that is March Madness. Now I could be all macho and come on here and tell you I am doing great in my bracket contest in my league , and that I had the results planned all along, but I would be lying. The truth is, I am indeed in first place, but I have no idea what I’m doing. (UPDATE) As sure as I had this planned for a nice article, I fell in to second place. At any rate, I’m certain this makes the other 105 other people with brackets in my league go insane. Oh well, it’s fun to win when you have no idea what’s going on.
Happy birthday today to Cousin Bill Harris in Memphis Tennessee. Hope you and yours have an awesome day today and get ready for me to come visit in about a month. I’m starting to make plans now.
Can’t wait to go see all my new found Tennessee relatives and go see Beall Street! Have a great day peoples.
About a week after I moved into my apartment.
It’s St. Patrick’s Day!! Come out and play! I hope to see everyone later!
One of the good things about professional sports is the amount of public exposure you can get for a great cause. Take the idea of Captain Morgan of Captain Morgan rum fame. He is on a mission to pose with his leg in the air to get a 1.00 donation for each picture for charity. The publicity has been amazing.
And it’s been fun. Much better than seeing the Mavs lose to the Lakers last Saturday night at the AA Center in Dallas.
