Suspect in Dodger Stadium beating of Bryan Stow is in custody

I want to say right off the bat, that a suspect has been arrested in this crime. Let’s let the justice system do it’s job in this case. But if this suspect is the one that did this, I say throw the book at whomever it was.

A man suspected of being one of the two assailants in the brutal beating of Giants fan Bryan Stow at Dodger Stadium was taken into custody early this morning, Los Angeles police sources say.

At about 7 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department SWAT team descended on an East Hollywood apartment building
with a warrant in hand. According to apartment building manager Maritza Camacho, police, using loudspeakers and with guns drawn, called out to the occupants of Apartment 25. Inside was one of the men police suspect in the March 31 beating that left Stow with brain damage.

Several police sources confirmed that the man taken into custody was one of the two suspects in the beating.

The two assailants repeatedly kicked and punched Stow while he was on the ground. Stow’s friends attempted to help, and were also punched and kicked before the attackers fled in a car driven by a woman wearing an Andre Ethier
jersey. Police said it appeared there also was a 10-year-old boy in the car.

Wow. Can we take this a step further? Can we assume that Stow was beaten up for reasons other than being a Giants fan?

What if this was racially motivated? Well? What if it was? Don’t we have laws in this country from this sort of thing? How do they proove it? Isn’t it something that is on everyone’s mind but no one is saying it?

My prayers are for the Stow family. My prayers are also that justice, true justice will prevail here.

Wake up call: The Giants return to the scene of the crime

Bryan Stow, shown with his children, was severely beaten by two assailants in the parking lost at Dodger Stadium on opening day, March 31

You remember opening day in Major League Baseball right?

The San Francisco Giants were playing the LA Dodgers in LA when Giants fan Bryan Stow was beat up for wearing a Giants jersey?

Well guess what? The Giants are back in LA tonight to start another series with the Dodgers, and this time, there are going to be more police than peanut vendors at the park.

Additionally, this could be the last game that Frank McCourt watches his team plays the Giants as the owner. You remember McCourt right? The guy who said there wasn’t a security problem at Dodger Stadium?

From USA Today:

McCourt, who paid the hotel bills while Stow’s family was in Los Angeles, now might not be able to pay his employees on their next payday, May 30. Major League Baseball is investigating McCourt’s finances; through 22 home games,
Dodgers attendance is down 157,115 from a year ago, the biggest drop in baseball.

The attack has stirred emotions and debate throughout California and baseball as well as an outpouring of support for Stow and his family. To make a donation to the “Support Fund for Bryan Stow” go to ww.SFpcu.org.

Let’s hope tonight’s game is more about baseball than crime.
