Oh, I could have stayed in bed this morning. But alas, no. I’m up and reading, and drinking coffee, and trying to become awake.
As weired as it may seem, I think I do my best thinking right when I get up. I know, if you know me that doesn’t seem to fit, but I think it has merit.
Let’s see what’s in the back of my mind this morning.
I went to the company softball game after work yesterday evening. It’s a lot of fun. Maybe next season I can play?
Our team lost but a fun time was had by all. Maybe I can throw my hat in the ring to coach perhaps.
Here is an interesting story I thought was pretty cool. I think it’s cool and positive, but I’m pretty sure many readers will not agree.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis tends to get big names involved in its fundraising efforts, from Elvis Presley to Target. Add the Dallas Cowboys to that mix.
In a raffle to embarrass most other raffles, the hospital will give away the use of a suite at the new stadium in Arlington for the 2010 Cowboys season. The raffle tickets are $250 and are now on sale at www.stjudedreamgiveaway.org/dallas or by calling 800-379-5217.
The prize includes the 18 tickets that come with the suite, four VIP parking passes, a $1,000 food and beverage gift certificate per game and $66,000 in VISA gift cards.
Other prizes are a 14-person suite at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington for one game during the 2010 Texas Rangers season, a 25-person suite at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie for one race during the 2010 live racing season, and an 18-person suite for one Dallas Stars game at American Airlines Center.
The Cowboys suite was donated by the Gene and Jerry Jones Family
Charities. The winners will be announced at the hospital’s Evening Under the Star party at Cowboys Stadium on Oct. 17.
That’s pretty cool isn’t it? More later.
